Homelessness is not just a national issue. In Genesee County, more than 200 people live in emergency shelters every night. Countless others live on the streets, sleep in their cars, and stay in abandoned buildings.

H ousing is the most basic of needs that plays a role in a family’s well-being. We believe housing is a right, not a reward. Our mission is simple: safe housing, independence, and stability. Throughout numerous programs, our holistic approach focuses on addressing root causes and ensuring homelessness doesn’t affect families again.

Our Emergency Shelter fills to maximum capacity most nights. 60% of the people who come into our Emergency Shelter are children under the age of 10. Roughly 40% of people who come to us for emergency shelter are homeless for the first time. Our staff and case managers work tirelessly to combat those issues.
