Coldest Night of the Year Fundraising Walk
📅 February 22nd |📍Mott Community College | 🔗cnoy.com/flint
You’re invited to join us for the Coldest Night of the Year, a winterrific, family-friendly fundraising walk that supports local charities helping people facing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. This walk is a chance to step into the shoes of those who face the harsh realities of winter without shelter. On event day, choose between a 1- or a 3-mile walking route; the walk ends with a warm meal and drinks to celebrate all of our hard work!
How is this a fundraising walk?: Most of the money gets raised in the months leading up to the event- and it’s peer-to-peer focused, so you’ll be asking everyone you know. We thrive on having Team Captains: our fundraising leaders. Have friends, family members, or coworkers register to join your team and help you raise money. Know a local church group or business? Have them create a star-studded team! Last year, our community helped raise $22,000—this year, we’re setting our sights higher with a goal of $25,000!
Ready to get involved?: You’ve got some options!
- Start a team: Become a Team Captain & rally your friends, family, and coworkers to join your team
- Join a team: You can also hop onto an existing team (join SOF General Team if you’re flying solo!)
- Start or join by visiting cnoy.com/flint & click “register to walk + fundraise”
- Just want to donate? Go to cnoy.com/flint & click “donate direct to our official team”
Please contact our Event Director, Abby Raguckas, at araguckas@shelterofflint.org with any questions!
P.S. you can rock this awesome blue toque at the walk if you raise $150 ($75 for kids 17 & under) 😎

A Home of Their Own Luncheon – October 2024
We want to extend a big thank you to everyone who made our October luncheon a truly memorable event! From our generous sponsors to our dedicated attendees, your support allowed us to come together and celebrate the incredible resilience and success of our clients.
This year, we were proud to honor Spartan Street Medicine for their unwavering commitment to serving unhoused members of our community. Their partnership with our Street Outreach team has been instrumental in providing much-needed care and assistance to individuals living on the streets of Flint. Recognizing their impactful work was a powerful reminder of how much we can achieve when we work together.

Coldest Night of the Year – February 2024
Wow! In only our 3rd year participating in this fundraising walk, our community has outdone themselves. After the hard work of our 18 fundraising teams, we raised over $22,000! That’s 12% above our initial goal! 102 attendees showed up on event day, all bundled up to walk our 2km or 5km routes around Mott Community College.
The day was unforgettable, with warm food and beverages provided at the end of the walk by Timothy’s Pub & Starbucks. It was a great way to commemorate our successes. Thank you to our other sponsors— HAP CareSource, Mid-Michigan Now, and Pioneer State Mutual Insurance— for making this event so memorable.
