Coldest Night of the Year 2026
Our Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk was a HUGE success!
On February 28th, close to 200 community members gathered to walk down Saginaw Street in support of our mission to provide safe housing, independence, and stability for all. Our 34 fundraising teams worked to raise over $42,000 for our clients, smashing our $35,000 goal.
We are so grateful for all the support of fundraisers & walkers, along with our fantastic sponsors, and event partners like Starbucks & Timothy’s Pub, who provided warm food and drinks for walkers.

A Home of Their Own Luncheon – October 2025
Our annual luncheon was an incredibly special afternoon where we celebrated our partners, staff, and clients. The wonderful Angie Hendershot of ABC 12 returned as our emcee, and several of our staff and board members spoke and shared updates.
We were so excited to present our HR Director, Cheri Fish, with the H. William Reising Award. Cheri has worked for Shelter of Flint for a decade and is extremely dedicated to her work and an amazing coworker. Congratulations to Cheri for this honor!
We also shared a powerful video featuring 4 of our clients, each of them talking about Shelter of Flint transformed their lives. Watch our client testimonials here.
