Spring Splash
3rd Annual Spring Splash Fundraiser to
Help Raise Funds for the Shelter of Flint, Inc.

On Saturday April 14, 2012 the Loyal Order of Moose in Fenton hosted its 3rd Annual Spring Splash. Many gathered to jump in the cold waters of Lake Fenton to help the homeless get their ducks in a row!! SPLASHERS enjoyed a Costume Parade, the Big SPLASH and prizes for the best costume and most money raised by a team!

Homelessness is a national and local issue. Right here, in Genesee County there are more than 200 individuals living in emergency shelters every night and countless others living on the streets, in their cars and in abandoned buildings. The fastest growing group of homeless is families with children.

The Spring Splash helped the Shelter of Flint house more than 1,300 women, children and families this year. In addition to bringing homelessness awareness to Genesee County, Michigan, this event generates the funds that allow the Shelter of Flint to provide programs, such as literacy, counseling, job readiness training and rental assistance, to help homeless citizens gain and sustain permanent housing.
